- On June 1st, 2022 Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack on behalf of the USDA, shared a plan that will help to ease the current supply and inflation issues that are disrupting the food production and distribution. The $2 billion proposal will include up to $300 million to help farmers in need transitioning to organic production, up to $75 million to support “urban agriculture, and up to $375 million to support independent mean and poultry plants to help diversify the supply chain. This initiative is to make healthy food available at reasonable prices given recent inflation.
