- Just two month after the California state lawmakers passed a legislation designed to reduce plastic waste, they have since passed six new bills that are designed to further reduce and clean up California’s waste stream. If California’s Governor, Gavin Newsom, signs these bills this will result in major changes to visits at grocery, electronic and retail stores. One of these bills includes starting in 2025, plastic bags in the produce and bulk bin sections of a grocery store will need to be reusable, recyclable, or compostable.
